This time, I have reached the great isle in the middle of the Mediterranean sea to interview this young but already good band: Infernal Goat comes from Sardinia, and they play a brutal Black Metal fast, blaspheme and very good listenable. Their last promo "Bestial Passion" is a very good tape, and talking with Lord Impaler (guitar), I had the opportunity to make clear some doubts I had about the substantial difference between some of the songs inside it... read and understand:

Hail Impaler, How's going on in Sardinia?

Oh, Hell-o Abisem! Thank you in advance for the interview. Yeah, here in Sardinia we can say that the situation is a real shit! There are no metal pubs to play in, but we play our music anyway. We don't care, so let's fuckin' drinkkk !!

You are the guitar player of Infernal Goat, so let us know something about your band: its origins, the reason you took this name, the kind of music you play and so on… I call upon you to speak!

The band was formed in 1998 by myself and the vocalist (Lord Goat, n.d.A.), because of our great passion for the total primitive and pure Black Metal.
I decided to call the band Infernal Goat, because this name has a strong old school feeling inside. We can say that we play Black Metal, but some others say that we play BM influenced by Death Metal music.

I'm listening to your last promo-tape, entitled "Bestial Passion", and what I hear is a very brutal assault, miles away from the always more melodic approach of most of nowadays BM bands; are you satisfied about it? What would you like to change of it, if you had the opportunity?

Ohh, you are just greattt! Thank you for your words! It's true, we have to play brutal music in spite of melodic one!
No, we are satisfied, but surely we will produce better our sound in the next releases !!

I can clearly notice a great difference between the first two songs and the bonus ones, not only about recording quality, but also even about the general mood of the song themselves. Can you underline these differences and make us understand the changes made by the band, comparing these songs?

The first two tracks only compose the promo-tape, while the other three are simply bonus tracks. Our work consisted in the first songs, but… we wanted to put some rehearsals! This is the reason.

In my review of the album I noticed the fact that your kind of music can be better appreciated if you have an "honest" recording, instead of the really low-fi production of the bonus tracks. That's not because I think it's so bad (I heard lot of stuff with a recording worst than this), but 'cause I think that the music you play takes advantage of a clearly production that can make them more appreciable. Do you agree with me?

Of course! But, as I said, it's a part of the promo that consists only in bonus songs, and nothing more. But, don't worry, we will have a better sound in the next work !!

Ok, back to your songs, tell us how do you create your music and what inspires you. Do they come out from a riff, from a text.... what?

Yeah! We compose some riffs and then, when we are inspired by the music, we try to put out some texts. Lord Goat is the main composer, but also the other members write some blasphemies, ahahah !!

I think the topics of your lyrics are quite "blaspheme" and sometimes ironic, reading the titles of your songs: what are the classic arguments you like to speak about in a typical Infernal Goat song?
Do you consider things such as Satanism, blasphemy, bestiality and so on, just provocation topics or there's an ideology beyond the extreme image of Infernal Goat?

We stand always in our opinions. You can consider our music like the way we put out our hate against the christian ideology around the world, and in particular against clerical people! We speak about visions, stories, and experiences of our lives. Yes, I can say that we want to provocate, but in any case we will remain in our way, ok? Ahahah.

What are your personal beliefs and your relations with thing as religion, dogmas and so on?

So, religion is the evil! Try to be free and to believe in yourself! Fuck christ and all his tribe !!

You live in Sardinia, that everybody knows is a beautiful Italian isle in the Mediterranean sea: do you think that this kind of "isolation" could be a font of inspiration to create extreme music such as BM, don't you? What about the scene in your home-place?

How could I answer ?!? I take my inspiration from Sardinian goats, ahahahah !!
There isn't a great scene here in Sardinia, but just a lot of good bands like: Abiura, Negative Creep, Worstenemy, Valpurga and few ones more…
We haven't the possibility to play live on stage, and that's no good !!

Tell us what are the bands that gave you the inspiration to create music and what are your everyday listenings. Do you listen only to BM music, or do you like some other genres?

Infernal Goat listen to every kind of music, but normally we like to listen to Black Metal, Thrash metal and Death metal.

Are you planning some live dates? I think your music could be killer if played with the right mood and conditions…

I hope that, in a near future, we can have the possibility to take our instruments and come in the Italian ground beyond the sea. It will be great !!

Ok Impaler, tanking you for the interview I give you the opportunity to end as you want and, as used by serious interviewers, to ask me a single question: do as you like…

Hail to you Abisem! Thanks for the support, the underground needs youuu !! So…mmmmh… Do you know Ichnusa beer? Uahahahahahahahahahahah...

Of course man! My parents took me a box of it after their holidays in Sardinia, and I had some good times with it! Maybe you can bring some cases with you, in your future travels… Hail Lord Impaler!
